Исследовательская программа ИПИИР сосредоточена на прикладном слое ИИ — пересечении ИИ-инструментов с реальной работой людей и организаций. Институт развивает шесть взаимосвязанных направлений: от изучения того, как сотрудники работают с ИИ, до отраслевых стандартов внедрения, прикладной роботизации и машинного восприятия в промышленности. Каждое направление формирует собственную программу полевых исследований, открытых отчётов и кейс-стади.

Questions about the research programme
How is the research programme organised?
The institute runs six research lines grouped into three programmes: AI at work, the applied landscape, and perception and autonomy. Each line has a lead, its own team, publications and events. A line page brings all of it together — from the questions being asked to the work already published.
How are research topics chosen?
A topic enters the programme when a practical decision depends on it — something people or organisations have to settle when they put AI to work. The institute starts from observed practice rather than laboratory set-ups, and checks that the question is still open and that data or a field site is within reach.
Can I propose a topic or a joint study?
Yes. Proposals for topics, data and joint projects go to research@ipiir.ru; partnership enquiries to partnerships@ipiir.ru. It helps to name the research line the topic sits closest to, state the research question in one sentence, and say what data or field site could be opened up for it.
Where are the results published?
Peer-reviewed papers, preprints and technical reports appear under Publications; shorter analyses and methodological pieces under Notes. Data, code and benchmarks are released openly under permissive licences. Everything a given research line produces is also collected on that line's own page.
What counts as field research in AI?
Work carried out where the tool is actually used: at workstations, on production lines, inside office processes. It records the conditions of deployment, what people do with the tool and usage telemetry — not only benchmark scores. Findings are stated in terms of the decisions an organisation has to make.
