Questions about this research line

What falls under applied robotisation?

Fitting existing robotic platforms into working processes: warehousing and logistics, service and production operations. IPIIR's applied robotisation line matches a class of solution to a task, describes human–robot collaboration and measures the return. The Institute builds no platforms of its own and does no mechatronics.

What is an anti-scenario of robotisation?

A task that looks well suited to a robot but, once deployed, demands a process rebuild costing more than the gain — or that should simply stay with a person. The line keeps a catalogue of scenarios and anti-scenarios: which operations robots genuinely resolve, which need redesign first, and which are not worth automating.

How is the return on a robotic solution calculated?

By total cost of ownership, payback period and the effect on the indicators of the process itself — not by the price of the machine. Operator training, maintenance, downtime and rebuilding the process around the robot all enter the calculation. Cases that never paid off are examined separately, in deployment postmortems.

What changes in people's work after robotisation?

Work is usually redistributed rather than simply reduced: some operations move to the robot, while new tasks appear in supervision, maintenance and fault handling. The line studies these organisational and staffing effects, along with the interfaces, safety protocols and operator training that human–robot collaboration requires.
